Castle of Colomares in Benalmádena
This castle is a monument built as a tribute to Christopher Columbus and represents the discovery of a new world.
The goal of Christopher Columbus was to travel to find India.
Thanks to the support of the Catholic Kings and some marine experts, they undertook the trip in the year 1492.
In total there were 96 crew and most of Andalusian origin.
In the castle of Colomares are represented the 3 ships that used to travel, called the Niña, the Pinta and the Santa María.
