Cathedral of Granada

It is a Catholic temple, work of the Spanish Renaissance.
Its name is: Holy Church, Metropolitan Cathedral of the Incarnation of Granada.
The first stone was laid to build the Cathedral in the year 1523.
The first architect of this building was Enrique Egas but he was later replaced by Diego de Siloé.
It was Diego de Siloé who managed to change the Gothic design of Enrique Egas by a Renaissance design.
Juan de Maeda continued the work of Siloé. The works were continued by several masters more and ended in the year 1704.
Saint Hieronymus Front and the Door of Forgiveness stand out as key places of the Spanish Renaissance.
